Amanda Gonzale's expertise became a cornerstone of the rebellion's strategy. After EvoTech was nationalized and converted into a government-controlled corporation, it focused solely on developing the Clavatus and Seleno exosuits to protect its authority and build an army of exo-soldiers. Amanda, stripped of her position and resources, now worked in secrecy with the rebellion, using her knowledge to set up a makeshift workshop for exosuit development and repair.

The rebels relied on salvaged parts and outdated motors that had less than a quarter of the power of the government’s advanced suits. This was no accident—the government had seized every factory producing high-performance motors, ensuring no rival could match their technological superiority. Still, Amanda persevered, patching together rudimentary exosuits and training others to build and maintain them.

Despite their limitations, the rebellion knew they needed more than just clever engineering to stand a chance. A two-point plan was devised to level the playing field.

The first action was to stage a massive, attention-grabbing riot outside EvoTech HQ. Amanda insisted it remain non-lethal—she refused to harm her former colleagues, many of whom had no choice but to comply with the government. The goal was to draw the authorities’ focus and resources toward the headquarters, creating a distraction that would leave other critical areas vulnerable.

The second action was more daring: a raid on a secluded government-controlled factory where the vital motor components were stored. These motors, the heart of modern exosuits, would give the rebellion a fighting chance against the heavily armed exo-soldiers. A small, highly trained team was assembled for the operation, with Amanda providing critical intel on the factory’s layout and the components they needed most.

As the plans were set into motion, Amanda wrestled with the weight of her decisions. She wanted to give the rebellion hope, but the lines between survival and destruction grew thinner every day. Meanwhile, Ana was determined to prove herself in the rebellion, ready to take any risk to support her mother and their cause.

Week 1

Initially, the riot unfolded as planned. Rebels hurled Molotovs and smoke grenades at the building, making it seem like they intended to storm EvoTech HQ and seize exosuits. Clavatus units arrived equipped with riot shields and stun batons, while Seleno units managed the flames. However, tensions boiled over as teargas canisters were launched into the crowd.

The rebels responded with small explosives and thermite charges, escalating the situation. Government loyalists fired back with live ammunition, resulting in the first casualties. Enraged, Elijah, the pyrotechnician leading the riot, declared, “If they want to play, let’s play.” His group unleashed napalm, thermite bombs, and flamethrowers, turning the riot into an all-out war zone.

The police commander, overwhelmed by the chaos, gave the Clavatus and police units clearance to fire at will. The battlefield erupted into violence, with casualties mounting on both sides. Elijah and his group, known for their deadly expertise in firebombing, held their ground for four brutal days, using their specialized incendiaries to fend off increasingly aggressive waves of police and Seleno units.

Meanwhile, the factory raid yielded critical victories for the rebellion. A team of rebels secured the vital motor components, and several factory staff members defected, bringing blueprints for advanced exosuit designs. The team managed to eliminate a small contingent of Clavatus guards, seizing their suits to help transport the stolen materials. These captured suits became invaluable to Amanda, allowing her to reverse-engineer the designs and adapt them for the rebellion’s use.

Back at the rebellion’s base, the mood was tense. The riot at EvoTech HQ had devolved into a prolonged and deadly standoff, with more police and exosuit units being deployed each day. Amanda worked tirelessly to turn the stolen motors and parts into functioning suits, but the rebellion faced a dire choice: use the limited resources to create quick combat-ready suits for immediate reinforcements or retreat and cut their losses.

Amanda managed to craft a handful of suits for combatants and specialized retrieval units for recovering fallen Clavatus or Seleno suits to recycle their parts. Ana joined the recovery team. Her role involved extracting injured rebels and retrieving corpses from the frontlines, as well as providing wound treatment and stabilizing critical injuries.

Ana's role as a trained medic, provided a lifeline for injured rebels, extracting them from active combat zones and administering emergency care. Her specialized recovery exosuit, equipped with advanced mobility and stabilization tools, allowed her to rescue both the injured and fallen exosuit units, often under heavy fire. Ana’s calm under pressure and compassion for her comrades earned her the trust and respect of those she saved.

The rebellion held its ground against overwhelming odds, but the question loomed: How long could they endure before the cost became too great? With resources dwindling and casualties mounting, the rebellion's leadership knew that every decision from this point on could mean the difference between survival and annihilation.

Week 3

Two weeks in, Elijah returned to the rebellion's headquarters. His injuries, along with mounting losses, made his presence at HQ crucial. During a tense meeting with the rebellion's leadership, Elijah laid out their grim reality. "If we retreat now, they'll hunt us down. They've got the numbers, but we’ve got the skill. We need to think strategically—take what we need, destroy what we can’t, and hit them where it hurts."

Amanda, who had been working tirelessly on repurposing salvaged exosuits, agreed. She and Elijah discussed his vision for a anti tank-focused unit—a suit tailored to his expertise in pyrotechnics and designed for maximum destructive potential in urban combat.

The rebellion shifted focus to recovering as many fallen Clavatus and Seleno units as possible. Bodies were removed, and the exosuits were recycled. Amanda led the effort to redesign the suits, making them lighter, easier to produce, and moddable. These new designs allowed combatants to strip parts from enemy units and attach them directly to their suits, creating a modular, scavenger-style approach to warfare.

The rebellion’s ultimate goal was clear: overtake EvoTech Industries. By recovering the company’s blueprints and technology, they could level the playing field. Destroying the facility afterward would deny the government access to its resources.

During the advance on EvoTech, some employees evacuated to government strongholds, while others defected to the rebellion. Among the defectors were Amanda’s old colleagues—engineers and technicians who had grown disillusioned with the regime. They joined Amanda and the rebellion’s engineers to develop new battle tech.

Amanda spearheaded the creation of an upgraded recovery team suit. This model prioritized speed over protection, incorporating leg supports capable of superhuman running speeds. To mitigate the strain on the body, recruits wearing the suits required a torso, neck, and head brace to prevent injuries like whiplash.

The team also worked on a defensive unit designed to counter the explosive firepower of the police and military. Streets littered with debris made tanks ineffective in urban combat, forcing the military to station them at a distance. Amanda's solution was a bipedal tank—an agile, terrain-adaptable exosuit capable of traversing rubble-strewn streets. While not sturdy enough to survive direct hits from tank shells, the design offered enough mobility and resilience to evade and withstand rockets, making it a game-changer in the rebellion's arsenal.

With Elijah’s fire unit nearing completion, recovery suits ready for deployment, and the bipedal tank prototype in its final stages, the rebellion steeled itself for the assault on EvoTech. As tensions rose, Amanda and Ana worked side by side—Amanda finalizing the designs and Ana preparing her team of recovery operatives.

Week 5

After weeks of relentless fighting, the rebellion made significant advances. Elijah's fire units proved invaluable as anti-tank heavy hitters, equipped with multiple anti-tank rockets, thermite and napalm grenades, and the fearsome thermite steel spear launcher capable of instantly disabling tanks—albeit at a steep cost to produce.

Simultaneously, the newly developed defense units played a crucial role. These large exosuits, outfitted with thick armor plating and deployable shields, offered critical protection to recovery teams. While they couldn’t withstand a direct tank shell, their agility and durability allowed them to traverse chaotic terrain and provide essential cover during intense firefights.

Through careful planning, the rebellion wore down the military’s strength by ambushing reinforcement routes, claiming exosuits and weapons. Meanwhile, the main force focused on breaching EvoTech’s defenses with spontaneous and overwhelming force.

On the fifth week, the rebellion launched an all-out assault on EvoTech. With help from an insider defector embedded within the military, the rebels gained access to key areas inside the facility. After hours of grueling combat, they managed to overtake EvoTech’s base in a single day.

However, victory was bittersweet. The rebels discovered that the government had anticipated their move. All blueprints and critical data had been cleared, and the remaining exosuits were already relocated. Most production machines they managed to recover were deliberately wrecked by the military before evacuation.

At the EvoTech facility, they managed to uncover scrapped plans about a rumored super facility. This government project aimed to mass-produce soldiers in record time by using advanced AI to hyper-train fresh recruits into combat-ready exosuit operators in mere seconds. She shared her suspicions with the rebellion's leadership. "We’ve lost more than we’ve gained," Elijah admitted grimly during a strategy meeting. "And now, we don’t even know what’s coming for us."

With no leads on the location of the super facility and dwindling resources, the rebellion was forced to shift its strategy. They fortified their headquarters, focused on repairing what they could from the wreckage of EvoTech’s machines, and prepared for the inevitable counterattack.

Amanda, despite the setbacks, rallied the engineers and technicians under her command. "If we don’t know what’s coming, then we make sure whatever they throw at us can’t bring us down," she declared.

Her team began working around the clock, upgrading the modular exosuits with parts salvaged from ambushes and refining the designs for quicker repairs and adaptability. Elijah’s fire units were also improved to maximize their destructive potential with limited resources.

But time was against them. The rebellion knew the government wouldn’t stay idle. They braced themselves, knowing that the next phase of the war could decide everything.

In the capital, the new Prime Minister, reigning from his fortified stronghold, solidified his rule over the main continent. Lavish palaces and advanced technology surrounded him as he plotted his grand conquest of the supercontinent. His power was bolstered by the secretive super facility, hidden on a secluded island, which mass-produced exosuit soldiers. Plans were already underway to link the super facility to the capital via a magnetic transport system, allowing rapid deployment of his army.

The Prime Minister's vision of domination seemed inevitable, with resources pouring into his military projects and loyalists across the region ensuring his regime remained unchallenged from within.

Meanwhile, the rebellion, now forced to abandon surface operations, began an ambitious project to move its operations underground. Using old subway tunnels, abandoned sewer systems, and collapsed infrastructure, Amanda and her team led the effort to construct a vast subterranean HQ.

The underground base was meticulously designed to include:

  • Access points for reconnaissance: Hidden hatches across the city allowed scouts to monitor government movements discreetly.

  • An underground cargo train system: Though traditional and slower than the government’s magnetic transport, the train system prioritized efficiency. Supplies, exosuits, and even combatants could be transported across their network of tunnels.

  • Mobile workshops: Each train had a repair station to conduct quick fixes, ensuring exosuits and weapons were always combat-ready.

Amanda with groups of architects and engineers redesigned the old subway tunnels to optimize airflow, stability, and stealth. She emphasized modular designs, enabling sections of the tunnels to be repurposed or sealed off in case of discovery.

Her daughter, Ana, now a skilled operative, often led teams to scavenge materials from forgotten parts of the city to aid the construction. The rebellion’s engineers even managed to create a shielded comms network, allowing secure communication across the underground HQ and preventing the government from intercepting their plans.

While the government focused on expanding its military might, the rebellion shifted its strategy to guerilla warfare and survival. Their underground systems became the backbone of their resistance, providing shelter, mobility, and secrecy.

Elijah, continued to spearhead the rebellion’s combat efforts. With Amanda’s help, he began designing tunnel-specific units, such as compact suits for tight spaces and exosuits equipped with drills for quick excavation or collapse of tunnels in emergencies.
